Why there is no Android version
Grok Automation is a browser extension. It works by running inside a Chrome tab that is already signed in to grok.com, watching the page, filling in prompts, and saving results to a folder on disk.
Chrome for Android does not load extensions — there is no extension API, no Chrome Web Store install on mobile, and no developer mode to sideload into. This is not something we can work around with more effort. A few Android browsers (Kiwi, and some Firefox builds) do support a subset of extensions, but our extension also needs a real downloads folder and long-running background tabs, neither of which behaves reliably on a phone.
So: not “not yet”. Not possible in this shape.
About the APK results
Searches like grok automation extension download apk return files that are, at best, unrelated apps, and at worst something you should not install. We do not publish an APK and we never have. If you find one carrying our name, it did not come from us.
The only place our software is distributed is the Chrome Web Store listing .
What actually works if you are mostly on a phone
The realistic pattern is: queue on a desktop, review on the phone.
- Run the batch on a computer. Any Windows, Mac or Linux machine with Chrome. Paste your prompt list, set a delay, press start, and leave it running — a long queue is exactly the case this is built for.
- Let results land in a project folder. Every generated image and video is downloaded, renamed and filed automatically, so you end up with one folder per batch instead of a hundred loose files.
- Sync the folder to your phone. Point the downloads folder at Google Drive, Dropbox, iCloud Drive or Syncthing, and the finished files appear on your phone by the time you pick it up.
- Do the selecting and posting on mobile. Reviewing clips and publishing them is the part a phone is genuinely good at.
An old laptop that stays on overnight is enough. The queue does not need supervision — that is the whole point of it.
What you can do on Android without any extension
grok.com works in a mobile browser, and xAI publishes Grok apps for Android and iOS. You can prompt, generate and download one result at a time there perfectly well. What you cannot do on a phone is queue hundreds of prompts and have them run unattended — that needs a desktop browser, with or without our extension.
